Almost 55,000 homes have reportedly been harmed by the rains, with their items and temporary homes ruined.

Heavy rains over the last seven days have intensified the already dire circumstances of the hundreds of thousands of uprooted residents in the territory, as stated by humanitarian groups.

"Awful" Conditions Creates Serious Threats

A representative characterized the recent storm as "awful", with rain so heavy that as much as 15cm (6in) of water accumulated on the terrain.

"These conditions was really horrendous for the people. The downpours were so powerful... And the winds were so forceful," said the representative.

Officials express grave worry that children sheltering in tents in wet attire will contract hypothermia and additional illnesses.

Fatalities and Extensive Loss

The health ministry have confirmed that one baby has died from hypothermia and at least 11 other people have lost their lives in building collapses triggered by the severe weather.

Additional accounts put a greater fatality count. Officials said that several residential buildings had collapsed completely and dozens had sustained partial collapse.

  • Nearly 55,000 families harmed by the weather.
  • More than 40 emergency safe spaces submerged.
  • Many people required to move once more.

Assistance Operations Considered Inadequate

Organizations have escalated shipments of shelter, bedding and garments after the halt in hostilities commenced, but they stress there is still not enough aid getting in.

"We are striving constantly to deliver that assistance and to allocate it, but the scale of the needs is so vast that we still have a great number of people and minors who are truly suffering nightly," stated one spokesperson.

Future Challenges and Agreement Terms

The subsequent part of the ceasefire involves arrangements for the reconstruction of Gaza, along with political arrangements, the pullback of military forces, and other conditions.

Relief bodies have highlighted the necessity for "greater and continuous relief to address pressing and future requirements."

The hostilities was triggered by an offensive in the autumn of 2023. Subsequent actions have resulted in a substantial number of lives lost in the territory, as per medical data.
