Seamer Gus Atkinson Adds to the English team's Injury Worries.
'Major setback' for the touring side after Atkinson goes off suffering a hamstring problem.
The English seamer further complicated the injury concerns plaguing England after leaving the playing area on the second morning in the Melbourne Test against Australia.
The right-arm seamer pulled up with his hamstring post-delivery that he bowled at the MCG.
The England team indicated the 27-year-old felt some "soreness" and would spend time away from the action in order to be assessed "during the day".
The final Test of the tour at the SCG begins at the end of the week.
The English side has previously lost fast bowlers Mark Wood with a knee problem and Jofra Archer to a side strain during this series.
A replacement bowler was brought into the squad as injury reinforcement.
His form was underwhelming early in the series, managing only a handful of scalps.
He was left out for the Adelaide match, then recalled for the Boxing Day match as Archer's replacement.
Atkinson improved at the MCG, bagging two scalps with the ball, before adding 28 while batting as one of just three England players to reach double figures.
After bowling one over late on the first day, he resumed for the second day's play and had nightwatchman edging to the keeper.
Yet, towards the conclusion of that over, he delivered a change of pace to Travis Head and immediately felt at his leg.
The English bowler returned to the side for the Boxing Day Test having missed the previous Test.
