Based on new research, cabinet members met with representatives from the oil and gas sector in excess of 500 times throughout their initial year in government – amounting to two times each business day.

The research revealed that fossil fuel lobbyists were present at 48% additional ministerial meetings in the present administration's opening year versus the prior year.

• Multiple leading oil corporations held discussions with ministers 100 times between them.

• Oil industry representatives attended the majority of official session about the energy profits levy, a interim levy against the "exceptional earnings" of offshore energy corporations.

An ecological representative commented: "Instead of considering experts, communities impacted by flooding, or parents anxious to ensure a safe future for their future generations, this government is favoring industry advocates and profits for major petroleum companies."

Official Denial

Officials asserted the discoveries were "misleading", stating numerous of the firms mentioned also had sustainable power initiatives and that these topics were frequently the main topic of the discussions.
